I am taking this advice to my heart, Jetsunma, and will strive to be worthy of your, and my own respect. Thank you for these wonderful teachings.
We must respect all sentient beings in all levels of their path. We should be most compassionate to those who are still ignorant of the Dhamma and confused by their experience in this cycle of rebirth. Buddha said everyone has a Buddha nature to awaken to, whether it be in this lifetime or 10,000 eons from now. Respect should be given to everyone. We should not make judgments about those around us, determining “they are good, those are bad.” Such pronouncements are contrary to the teachings of the Buddha and suggest that one must work hard to undo the Ego, as it is a hindrance to enlightenment. WE are all the same, no better, no worse.
