Theme: Finding ways to be generous

The Moon is conjunct the asteroid Ceres reminding us of the bounty of the earth and how by receiving that bounty we are also encouraged to give bountifully to sustain not only ourselves but all beings. In other words this conjunction reminds us of the interdependence of all life on this planet, and how nurturing and sustaining ‘others ‘pays it forward’ in so many ways. You continue to reassess your relationships at this time, and you can feel isolated from others (Venus conjunct Saturn). Putting concrete effort, with the right motivation, to nurture and support brings good results.

The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twists them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.~Thomas Merton

Theme: Immersion and connection

The Moon is in the water sign of Pisces for the next few days highlighting our connection with the heart and feelings generally. It can also signify the healing power of water. There is a boundless quality to Pisces that can be destabilizing if we have problems with our own internal boundaries and sense of self. On the plus side this lack of boundaries can be an entry way to a sense of spiritual oneness with all beings. The T-square between Mars, the Sun and Pluto reminds us to be on our guard for warring forces within us and outside of us, and invites us to continue seeking remedies to pacify the mind in this volatile time.

The charnel ground is a metaphor for any environment where suffering is present…Really, any place that is tainted by fear, depression, anger, despair, disrespect, or deceit is a charnel ground – including our own mind.~ Joan Halifax

Theme: Dealing with rigidity and nobility

The placement of the Moon in Aquarius and the Sun in Taurus highlights the tendency of these fixed signs to indicate inflexibility – and yet there is an incredible strength and fortitude in both signs to do with their element. The Moon in Aquarius highlights the cutting edge, innovative qualities of the air element that can inspire beneficial social change while the Sun in Taurus exemplifies the staying power of this earth sign which perseveres and is steadfast. The exact conjunction of Venus, the north node and Saturn indicates benefit is in the productive interaction between relationships and strong foundations and structures.

We need to let go of the dualistic mind. What is left over is unconfined nondual awareness…Unfortunately, sentient beings do not know how to look – and they do not trust it even if they do see.~Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche

Theme: Which direction are you facing?

With Neptune situated between Mercury and Saturn your spiritual self is impacted by communication conundrums and worldly responsibilities. It’s hard to get a fix on things in these circumstances. The good thing about Mercury is that it’s a flexible planet and can help you think through seeming obstacles. Mars has moved into Leo promoting dignity and self-worth. The sign of Leo can be prideful: there is good pride and not-so-good pride. With both the Sun and Moon in fixed signs it’s more challenging to give ground.

I believe in kindness. Also in mischief. Also in singing, especially when singing is not necessarily prescribed.~Mary Oliver

Astrology for 4/20/2025 Sunday by Miranda

Theme:  Conflict

Today the Sun moves into Taurus, creating a T-square by squaring Mars and Pluto which are in opposition to each other. All are in fixed signs which generally can bring rigidity in thinking and resistance to change. Self will and domination over others is the signature of this particular planetary configuration. This may play out in our personal life with experiencing conflict with authority figures.
On a national level we are seeing it play out with the major branches of government with each other. This transit is in effect the next few days but is more intense today due to Moon conjunct Pluto, intensifying our emotional response to whatever occurs.
On an individual level you can use the power of this transit to look deeply at areas of your life that you wish to change radically and let go of any attachments that block your growth.
“ No matter who we are or what we possess, the only thing that matters is letting go of attachment and making room for presence of mind.”
Dzigar Kongtrul

The Moon is Void of Course today from 1.21pm until 7.22pm EDT. Do not make any major decisions during this time period.

Astrology for 4/19/2025 Saturday by Miranda

Theme:  Not Self but Service

Mars trine Neptune can bring a spiritual search related to the universal and interconnectedness you have with all people and other species. A drive to help others suffering may emerge. It is a time where your sense of self is not strong but compassion for others can arise.
Most Mars transits can increase energy but due to the Neptunian influence you may feel more introspective.
“ A Bodhisattva’s only purpose is to benefit beings and that is done without attachment to form and content. It is done in whatever way is necessary.”
Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo

Astrology for 4/18/2025 Friday by Miranda

Theme:   The Scepter or the Sword

Today Mars moves into Leo where it will remain for 2 months. With several planets still in Aries and now Mars, the ruler of Aries in a fire sign also we may all be experiencing more vitality and energy than we’ve had in ages. It may bring out our passion and creativity in abundance but beware the tendency to prideful and arrogant self expression. Our fiery enthusiasm can also turn into a wish for dominance over others.
The Moon moves today into Capricorn which may assist in having some self control and soften the exuberance of the leonine qualities.
“ When one goes into battle, one studies the opponent. In the same way, we have to study our emotional reactions.”
Dzigar Kongtrul

The Moon is Void of Course from 7.38am until 10.12am EDT. Do not make any major decisions during this time period

Theme: Cause and effect

Saturn is conjunct the north node bringing rewards for effort that set you on the best path, as opposed to the path of past habitual patterns. Sometimes it is new directions and venturing into the unfamiliar that is most productive for the psyche. Mercury is conjunct Neptune. One interpretation of this aspect is that your intuition is not always reliable if it’s to do with ordinary things but it can be a powerful tool when harnessed for spiritual well-being that is tied to being of benefit to all beings.

Dare to declare who you are. It is not far from the shores of silence to the boundaries of speech. The path is not long, but the way is deep.~Hildegard of Bingen

Theme: Endurance and staying power

Mars trine Saturn embodies both discipline and staying power. It can be a dynamic time building foundations step-by-step. There are no short-cuts with this aspect. Nevertheless effort produces good results. The Moon is trine Neptune today bringing an appreciation of beauty in everyday life. The Sun squares Mars for the next few days bringing a feisty more combative posture. See if you can channel that energy productively by bringing people with you. Otherwise take a hike!

I’m at the stage in my life where I keep myself out of arguments. Even if you tell me 1+1=5. You’re absolutely correct, enjoy.~Keanu Reeves

Theme: How to steer a course?

With the North node conjunct Saturn, Mercury and Neptune you could be forgiven for feeling that the steering mechanism of your life is a bit on auto-pilot and you’re not sure where it’s taking you! Saturn and Neptune are such profoundly different planets that co-existence is almost an anathema except when it comes to cause and effect – where they are both heavy weights in the karmic result division. Saturn results tend to be immediate and clear while Neptune karmic results are slower and more amorphous over time. Both planets invite a process of letting go and mindfulness in order to move in the right direction.

Chatting, joking and entertainment are three distractions to a yogi; A Dharma-practicer should abjure them!~ Milarepa
