Theme: Precisely

With the Moon in Virgo conjunct Mercury in Virgo attention to detail and being precise are themes. It’s also a happy earth day with the Moon in Virgo so to all gardeners and farmers today it’s especially fruitful for accomplishing plans. The Sun in Leo is less interested in Virgo detail but the energy of its sunny disposition warms up everyone. Mars square Saturn and Mercury square Uranus today add sudden events and challenges, all of which can be harnessed for good if you are flexible.

Theme: Planting seeds and checking communication

The new Moon brings new possibilities and the best time to plant the seeds for new projects. With Mercury now retrograde but conjunct Venus there are mixed blessings in communications. On the one hand you have to continue to be mindful and double-check what was said or written, and on the other hand you have the helping hand of Venus when communications go awry, which is magnified today with the proximity of the Moon.

Theme:  New Beginnings

Today’s Leo New Moon can ignite creativity and self expression. Starting a new project or idea will fill you with optimism and enthusiasm. Mars and Jupiter conjunct increases energy so you may be involved in physical activity of some kind like gardening or athletics. Just be careful not to pull a muscle as Jupiter can sometimes increase our exuberance!

We are also just two days out before Mercury retrogrades on Monday which is a time for introspective or in-depth analysis. It’s easier to focus on detailed planning of future projects or matters rather than executing them. Because Mercury retrograde turns us inward, it can appear to bring delays, setbacks, obstacles in areas of communication and technology that forces us not to be so engaged in the outer world.

With the Moon in Cancer you have a good opportunity to turn your attention to family and home, and strengthen your ability to nurture self and others. The Moon in Cancer embodies the Great Mother, that part of us which nurtures and protects others, beyond our own immediate concerns. With the Moon in Gemini it’s been a ‘talking-through’ couple of days, talking about this, that and the other thing! Now the Moon is about to enter Cancer where it’s at home so less talking and more doing is in the stars. The Moon is also sextile Chiron today reminding you of the connection between your present emotions and past emotional experiences. The Sun in Leo continues to remind us of the need to find joy in simple acts.

With the Moon conjunct Jupiter today you have more optimism due, in part, to having your horizons expanded, and seeing more possibilities. This view can inspire you to have courage. You are more disciplined and committed, as the Moon proceeds on to conjunct Saturn. While Neptune remains in the last degree of Pisces, it’s a good time to contemplate, reflect and intuit the family patterns that inform your path.

The Moon conjunct Uranus today adds frisson to the start of the day. Feelings of separation are coupled with the wish to find freedom and ways to do things differently. Out-of-the-box ideas and inspiring communities are themes. Mercurial mercury in Virgo is good for ironing out details. The waning energy of the Moon’s cycle is a good reminder of the ebb and flow of life. Rather than starting something new continue to hone what you have accomplished.
