“His Holiness Karma Kuchen Rinpoche and all Palyul tulkus, khenpos, lamas, nuns, and students offer their strong heart-felt prayers for the victims of the recent earthquake.

This quake occurred in North Eastern Kham in an area historically called Gapa (once known as the Nangchen Kingdom). The Chinese name for the area is the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous region of Qinghai Province. This is very close to Amdo; Tharthang Monastery (also called Palyul Monastery) is close to the epicenter. The worst hit areas are Kye-ku-do of Qinghai and Dza Chu Kha of Sichuan Province. His Holiness Penor Rinpoche’s close friend, His Eminence Choeje Ayang Rinpoche, is from the area. His Eminence’s South Indian monastery is in the same area as Namdroling.

There was no damage at all in Palyul Monastery although the quake was felt there. We will update this page if and when we learn more.” from http://www.palyul.org

The Power of Lineage

During this time of celebrating the anniversary of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche I thought you might appreciate this image. It is a photo from 2006 when His Holiness visited KPC, and he is offering you empowerment with the Long Life Arrow.

Came across it while looking for photos for TBA and was so moved by it I decided to send it along.

This Great Master, Throneholder of this ancient Lineage, who offered so many immeasurable blessings to the world, offered the most precious and inconceivable blessing for your students when he recognized you and enthroned you to teach.

For the benefit of countless beings, may your life be long, health strong and may all your aspirations be swiftly fulfilled!

May this Great Master, who held this stainless Lineage together during these degenerating times, be swiftly reborn!

Ani Palchen needs our prayers.  Jetsunma wrote the following prayer for Ani Palchen.  Instructions were, “Please alternate the Seven Line Prayer with this prayer.”

To All the Root and Lineage Lamas,
And to none other than the Primordial Lama His Holiness Penor Rinpoche,
Kye Ho!
We bow down to your precious Lotus Feet
And to the fount of your endless wisdom.
We bow down to your Great Compassion
And offer the Celestial Mandala
Along with every perfect adornment.

We beg for the life of our vajra sister, Thupten Palchen,
Here she is, fighting for her life,
And we beg that you uphold her life,
And allow her to recover without suffering or fear.
If this is not possible, may she pass easily
And be reborn in Dewachen immediately.
This good Ani has served Palyul for many years
And we beg for the gift of her life and liberation.
Making countless prostrations from all your monks and nuns,
And including Jetsunma herself,
Please grant us this blessing
And may it benefit all sentient beings.

A message from Jetsunma:
To live in such sickness that you have hysterical love for one person

And having nothing but rage, judgment, and hatred for everyone else?

There is no love at all! Just sickness, narcissism, an unbalanced mind.

To rage at the success and happiness of others while cursing their name? This is not what the Buddha taught.

To taunt, harm and rant wishing for another’s downfall while salivating to pick up what shreds and crumbs that may be left?  This is demonic activity.  This will result in a lower rebirth.

To claim to have power, realization, virtue, intelligence, compassion while living a life that caused harm and no benefit? This is heinous, as Lord Buddha taught.

To have lived a life of violence, cruelty, dishonesty, lies, an ugly, tawdry life and then claim you are a high spiritual being is, if not so terribly tragic,  a dark and evil joke.

No one is laughing. We stand back and watch this monstrous activity as children, horrified and yet watching, unable to turn away from something so ugly.

To soil the Holy Dharma so thoroughly, to act as if there is no cause and result, to claim spiritual authority when one has lived a life without kindness or ethics is the result of having broken one’s Samaya uncountable times.

This is why the Buddha taught us to abandon Samaya breakers. And to embrace the pure BUDDHA, DHARMA and SANGHA with all our hearts and minds.

Abandon demons and their unholy darkness.  Do not follow  thieves and liars down to the lower realms.

ZHI YING TRÖ DREL GYUR MED DORJE AH

The Vajra AH is the unchanging foundational sphere, free from contrivance.

ZHI NANG GAG MED KÖN CHOG TSA SUM DANG

The unobstructed appearance of the foundation is displayed as the Three Rare

Supreme Jewels, the Three Roots,

DAM CHEN GYATSHO NOR LHA PO MO’I TSOG

The Ocean of Dharmapalas and assemblies of male and female wealth gods.

DENG NE KÜL LO TEN DANG TEN DZIN GYI

From this moment you are beseeched to fully liberate the Doctrine and upholders

CHI NANG BAR CHED KUN LE YONG DRÖL ZHING

From all outer and inner obstacles,

TRIN LE NAM ZHI BED MED LHÜN DRUB TE

And through your effortless and spontaneous accomplishment of the four

miraculous activities,

Cultivating Virtue

Happiness is a habit to be cultivated from within. Our minds are habitual but like a rider on a horse you must direct it.

Like a gardener we must cultivate good qualities. Why follow anyone with poor habits and bad qualities?

Good qualities and habits: attitude of gratitude, generosity, compassion, selflessness, right thinking, understanding of cause and result…

Don’t get caught in the trap of judgment – criticism, whining, neediness, selfishness, sloth, greed, and mindless unhelpful chatter.

What is your work? Is it in line with your morality, beliefs, conscience, does it help others? Is it honest work? These things really matter

The mind really is like a muscle to be used and developed. But so is the heart. Ethics are extremely important!

We make peace within ourselves, it does not visit, we cannot catch it. When our elements are in balance we are peaceful.

Anger, violence, grasping, fearfulness, ignorance, hatred, constant desire- these are some habits that keep us unbalanced.

If we have poor habits and qualities we also have no self esteem. And we go further into the chaos of falsity and lies. Crazy!

In short; be a proper gardener! Pull the weeds of bad habit and quality and plant the seeds of loving kindness! You will BLOOM!

Advice and Opportunities for Lha Bab Duchen

Jetsunma provided the following advice for today in her tweets:

Good morning and happy Lha Bab Duchen! May your day be filled with prayers, virtue, and good fellowship. May all beings benefit!

Recite Om Mani Padme Hung for animals. Om Ah Hung Benzar Guru Pema Siddhi Hung is good to recite too. Om Vajrasattva Hung to purify.

This is an excellant day to set free creatures meant to be eaten or killed, like bait fish and worms. And for animal rescue.

Today is good for virtous and kindly activities. But do not bring any harm to others, esp today. Everything counts 10 million times.

And dedicate your efforts to the end of suffering for all sentient beings! And pray for those you know are suffering now.

Today is also perfect to remember HH Penor Rinpoche‘ many gifts to us! How amazing His life and accomplishments. We long to see Him again.

We also must pray to HH Karma Kuchen, and be mindful of his kindness. This young Throneholder has accepted a huge burden gladly. E MA HO!

He and the Heart Sons will kindly guide us and we are grateful. HHPR will surely return, and we are grateful and at peace. Dharma prevails!
