A surprise comes around lunch time, destabilizing a situation. Opposing forces are highlighted today: Every factor involves an opposing factor and balance is everything. Put all the kids on one side of the teeter totter and nothing’s going to happen. Winston Churchill said, “Everyone is in favor of free speech, but some people’s idea is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone else says anything back, that is an outrage.” Listen to everyone, politely, and be aware that a person or opinion you dismiss will come back in full force. Elsewhere, this is a good time to donate blood, to pass out food to the hungry, and to spend time with vulnerable people. A group surrounding a person in trouble can offer protection. A small gesture makes a big difference in someone’s life today. Go ahead and be a hero if the need appears, and it might.
