Theme: Striving and strength

The Moon in Capricorn moves closer to Pluto today focusing our attention on our motivations for achieving success. Pluto reminds us of the psychological hooks involved in personal ambition and getting what we want. With Pluto energy, letting go our needs and wants begins a journey towards insight into our true motivations and ultimately transforming them into something bigger than ourselves, and therefore of more benefit.

Theme: Union

With the Sun and Moon conjunct today there is potential for inner union. The Moon in Capricorn brings focus on practical matters and taking responsibility. Mars has moved into Leo emphasizing inner dignity, and outer confidence and leadership. Mercury in Sagittarius brings optimism and freedom of expression to the forefront while Venus in Aquarius enables freedom of expression in relationships and encourages us to help out in a community context.

Theme: Determined, Ambitious or Cruel

The powerful opposition between Mars and Pluto is back for another 2 weeks.This energy can be used for self awareness and accomplishing ones goals, either positive or negative. We can also have interpersonal struggles. But ultimately it signifies that our conscious will is at odds with our subconscious drives. The energy for expansion, Jupiter, is also at cross-purposes to the restrictive power of Saturn. This conflict also lasts for the next 2 weeks.

Theme: Connections

With the Moon conjunct the asteroid Juno today the focus is on the ties that both bind us and set us free, especially in respect of deeply committed relationships. Saturn continues to form a T-square with Jupiter and Mercury – challenging ones capacity to fulfill commitments while navigating the sometimes unpredictable straits of communication. This T-Square invites us to find a balance when dealing with pressure for both expansion and contraction.

Theme: Practice mindfulness

The Moon is in Scorpio today providing many opportunities to check in with your mind and ground yourself, especially when strong feelings surface. Scorpio energy derives in part from its deep feeling nature so being able to ‘know thyself’ helps a lot with this transit in avoiding reflexive reactivity towards others. The Sun in Capricorn balances out the intensity of the Moon with an earthy ‘can do’ pragmatism. Capricorn is also known for its dry wit so let humor loosen any tightness today.

Theme: Restructuring

Jupiter is exactly square Saturn today forcing you to restructure in order to find a better balance between your personal goals and responsibilities. There is a grand trine between Jupiter, Venus and the Moon today providing upliftment and a silver lining to the day. With Jupiter remaining in opposition to Mercury communications of all kinds continue to pop up. Diplomacy goes a long way in dealing with foot-in-mouth moments.

The Moon is Void of Course for most of the day (from 5.44am through to 3.06am EST USA) so stow grand plans in favor of the ‘small is beautiful’ approach, and take time to reflect and restock.

Theme: Building bridges

With the Sun in Capricorn earth energy is available for robust building projects – and the laying of firm foundations for large-scale projects. Capricorn, like Libra, which the Moon is currently in, is a cardinal sign – which means activity is forefront. With Libra the activity is about strengthening social relations, achieving equilibrium, and making the right decisions. Today the Moon in Libra is sandwiched between the south node and the dark moon bring old, not so nice, patterns to the surface enabling you to potentially transform them.

Theme: Picking up pace

The Sun is pulling away from the square with Neptune slowly diminishing confusion and returning energy levels to a more normal level. With Saturn in Pisces moving ever so slowly it’s swings and roundabouts when it comes to establishing firm structures and boundaries. However, on the upside this placement can ultimately strengthen boundaries and give you more discernment in relation to your feelings, and what’s illusion and what is real. There are no psychological short-cuts with this placement: reward comes through deep reflection on self-limitations.

Theme: Impulsiveness and Innovation

With the Moon conjunct Mars today in Leo there are more reasons to watch your mind as it’s more reactive than usual. Mars/Moon stirs up strong emotions but they also quickly pass. You have energy that can be harnessed for good if you are a source of inspiration. The Moon is also trine Mercury enabling you to communicate with more clarity, compassion and assertiveness. The Sun is exactly square Neptune: reflection rather than action is a more productive mode.
