Theme: Solstice

Welcome to the winter or summer solstice, depending where you reside. This day marks a turning point mid-way through the seasons and is a time for reflection and renewal. It coincides with the movement of the Sun into the sign of Capricorn focusing our activities on building strong foundations, and setting our goals towards higher peaks. The earth energy of Capricorn also favors pragmatism, combined with some lighter moments of Capricorn frivolity (Yes Capricorns can be funny). The Moon moves into Taurus later making it a doubly earthy time for the next few days. With so many planetary aspects today it’s also a dynamic day.

Theme: Zest

With Venus opposite Uranus expect relationships and connections with others to produce unintended and surprising outcomes. You yearn for more freedom with this aspect and seek ways to find it. With the Moon in potent aspect to Ceres and Chiron you will seek both growth and emotional healing insights in order to move forward. There is a focus on both nurturing self and others. Theme: What do you see?

With the Sun square Neptune and the Moon you face discernment challenges. Answering the question, what is really going on, is harder to answer. Your energy levels also fluctuate more. With Vesta making the T-Square with the above planets, attending to your inner spiritual practice can provide more spaciousness and clarity. Once the Moon moves into Aries later in the day there is courage to move forward.

Theme: Activity Day

With Jupiter in the mix of aspects everything can get big quickly. If you plan to do something small it invariably morphs into another thing and so it grows. Venus and Mars are also both at work bringing harmony and challenges in your connections with others in equal measure. Finally, Uranus brings unexpected outcomes into the daily equation today.

Theme: Isolation

Especially in the second half of the day, the Moon enters Pisces and is united with Saturn. We will tend to isolate and keep our thoughts and feelings to ourselves. Things will tend to look bleaker than they really are. We are either cut off from our emotions, or we find them too difficult to deal with. This will pass by the end of the day. Fortunately we still have the upbeat trine between Mercury and Jupiter to help our thinking be more positive.

Theme: Think Your Feelings

With the Moon in Aquarius for 2 more days, we are more scientific, detached and humanitarian than usual. We might also disagree with others just for the sake of being different. Because the Moon is making a square angle with Venus today we feel very sympathetic and protective of our loved ones. We need to remember to give them adequate freedom now. There is also a danger in overindulgence. Especially in the second half of the day, we have extra assertive energy to get things done.

Theme: Strong Feelings

Especially in the middle of the day we may have a powerful feeling that overwhelms us. Obsessive thoughts can also be very powerful. This is a potent day for insight into ones psyche, and close relationships will be prone towards jealousy. For the next week Mercury retrograde harmonizes with Jupiter retrograde. This is mostly positive for all mental endeavors, if we can apply enough self-discipline. Remember that for the next 2 1/2 weeks finishing old projects, and researching but not starting new ones is recommended.

Theme: Connections

Theme: Mindfulness

With the Moon joining the Sun and Mars in Sagittarius there is more inspiration, adventure and freedom of movement – and yet, with Neptune squaring these planets, there are more challenges in conveying what you mean and being understood. Sometimes direct speech isn’t the best method – and being misunderstood is more likely today. On top of that Mercury has begun to go retrograde so attention to communication issues is heightened.
