Theme: Restraint
Today there are restraints on your wishes to do what you want. On the one hand you have to be mindful of your limitations, and on the other hand be careful to distinguish what is real emotionally and what is not. So on one level it’s a great day to exercise discipline including observing your reactions without necessarily acting on them. Friends can be helpful in providing another way to understand what’s happening around you. Meditation is also helpful. Self-restraint may be alien to the human temperament, but humanity without restraint will dig its own grave.~Marya Mannes

Theme: Improvements in connecting with others
Today there are energizing improvements in communication, particular concerning your emotional relationships with others. This can be a welcome ice-breaker that moves you past pre-existing tensions with others, and the persisting intensity in relationships while Venus is in Scorpio. There is opportunity for seeing things from a variety of perspectives particularly in design and legal matters. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too.~Paul Coehlo

Strengthening
Even though pressure and challenges continue there are strengthening aspects that top up your reserves including more energy to deal with adversity and more helping hands. Physical activity and especially psychological investigation into the things that hold you back from achieving your goals are instructive. Believing in something bigger than your self can be inspiring. Humor is healing. As Debra Winger says, I need my family to remind me in a loving and nice way to lighten up.
The following is respectfully quoted from “An Ocean of Blessings” by His Holiness Penor Rinpoche
IT’S VERY IMPORTANT to always supplicate your master with perfect devotion and make offerings of lamps, flowers, and so forth. Any offering you make, big or small, will be a cause for accumulating merit and purifying obscurations. But you must make offerings with pure motivation; you shouldn’t offer anything with miserliness or use offerings to show what a generous person you are. Lamp offerings purify the obscurations of ignorance, increase your life span, pacify illness, help you to perceive more in the intermediate state, and, according to Dzogchen, develop and increase your inner wisdom. In Tibet, when laypeople have problems with their business and so forth, they make large offerings of hundreds or thousands of butter lamps. They are worldly people and mainly concerned with temporary happiness and benefit, but they do receive benefit through those offerings.

Theme: Diplomatic efforts
Today the challenges continue as disruptive forces seek to cut through emotional stability and orderly routine. Equally there are people who can help as facilitators of harmony through diplomacy. Sharing ideas can bring good outcomes while night-time dreams can bring insights. Tact is the knack of making a point without making an enemy.~Isaac Newton
Obeisance to my Guru and Protector, Manjushri,
Who holds to his heart a scriptural text symbolic of his seeing all things as they are,
Whose intelligence shines forth as the sun, unclouded by delusions or traces of ignorance,
Who teaches in sixty ways with the loving compassion of a father for his only son,
All creatures caught in the prison of samsara, confused in the darkness of their ignorance, overwhelmed by their suffering.
You, whose dragon thunder-like proclamation of Dharma, arouses us from the stupor of delusions
And frees us from the iron chains of our karma, who wields the Sword of Wisdom
Hewing down suffering wherever its sprouts appear, clearing away the darkness of ignorance.
You whose princely body is adorned with the 112 marks of a Buddha, who has completed the stages achieving the highest perfection of a Bodhisattva, who has been pure from the beginning.
OM AH RA PA TSA NA DHI
(Repeat the mantra many times through. The last time:
DHI DHI DHI DHI DHI…..SOHA)
I bow down to you, O Manjushri. With the brilliance of your wisdom, O Compassionate One,
Illuminate the darkness enclosing my mind.
Enlighten my intelligence and wisdom so that I may gain insight
Into Buddha’s words and the texts that explain them.

Theme: Sudden departures from the norm
There are challenges today in the area of emotions and sense of purpose. There is likely to be more a sense of being alone. Unexpected changes are part of the challenge. The theme of sharing ideas, sense of purpose and nurturing continues particularly in the domain of health and self-care today. With the Sun in Libra learning the art of right decisions and balance can be helpful in dealing with change. Life is always a tightrope or a feather bed. Give me the tightrope.~Edith Wharton
