Although it’s a day filled with emotional intensity, the best bet is using your rational mind to handle what comes. Opposition is rampant and it’s imperative to consider both sides of every activity: doing something for yourself versus something for the group; staying home versus making a public appearance; eating alone versus fixing a meal for a group. Even worse, you must do both rather than choosing one! Nevertheless it’s happy day and love is in the air. Exciting? Yes! Nerve wracking? That too! Lynda Barry said, “Love is an exploding cigar we willingly smoke.”

Richard Russo said, “Lives are like rivers; eventually they go where they must, not where you want them to.” Stay in your head, use your rational mind, communicate with everyone and things go well. Discussion, talk, documents and negotiation are favorable, along with love and friendship. Stability is found with friends and groups.

Continue to divide your energy between emotional issues and the demands of the world. Tolerate outbursts with kindness and the awareness that they have no impact on the matter at hand. A difficulty has passed and is in the process of being resolved. Give yourself and others time to recover from
what just happened. A business or public issue suddenly changes, derailing plans. Everything can be solved by discussion and a generous attitude today so be as diplomatic as humanly possible. Epictetus said, “It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.” What’s good today? Effort that seems useless but isn’t, and unexpected recognition of a job well done. This is a healing balm to jangled nerves.

Cooperation is what matters most today. Extend a hand, help someone else. You must consider your interests and the interests of others as of equal importance. Use the childhood principal of “One for me, one for you,” for best results. An emotional person expects special treatment from you but continue to allocate your time evenly. The open door today involves a man or leader who is able to treat everyone fairly and with kindness. Viktor Frankl said, “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” The better you dress the better things go, and it’s an excellent time for banquets, parties and handing out awards.
